Wild Weekend

So this weekend was eventful. We started off Friday night with an 80's party that our friends Kayln and James threw. It was hilarious seeing everyone all dressed up. I really need to get on posting some pictures on this site, but I have some posted on my myspace and facebook page, if you want to check them out sooner than later.

Saturday, I drove to the zoo for lunch with Clinton, took my doggies to the dog park and let them run around for a good part of two hours and then drove to Wendover. Tiffany had her batchlorette party which lasted until about 4:00 AM. Luckily Tiffany had some hotel rooms booked and I got to sleep for a good 4 - 5 hours before Clinton had decided I had been murdered and mugged. After the two hour drive home, I went up to the zoo for lunch with Clinton again and when he got home we basically died for the evening.

Then last night we went to Nadine's (my sister-in-laws) birthday party and then through a party of our own. So yeah, this post actually isn't that exciting, but its just because I am so effin tired.

Holy Push-ups Batman

So as you all know... or should by now.. I will leave for basic training for the Army in October. To help you prepare, my recruiters office has what they call Future Soldier Training every Thursday. Sometimes we just go over combat positioning or paper work, sometimes we do PT(physical training). Both times I have experienced PT I have done a stinkin beef ton of push-ups. Yesterday we did roughly 280-290. Do you know what is is like to do almost 300 effin push-ups? Granted, after about 20 I was doing "girl push-ups" and then after about 50-100 my form was pretty lame. However, it was also super hot yesterday and push-ups are not the only exercise we do. We also did sprints, flutter kicks, ran sideways and backwards, etc. I almost lost my dinner. I always feel a sense of accomplishment after I make it and don't die. Although, I must say it makes me a little nervous for basic training. I am so sore today I can barely move. How am I going to manage not getting a break?

The Yard Project

So this weekend was pure craziness. First we had Ben (my little...well younger brother) and two of his friends out to our house to help do some yard work. My lovely neighbor was kind enough to let us borrow some tools for our project. We had decided to tear down the two decrepit sheds that we had and before I knew it I had two huge piles of rubble in my yard. I cannot believe how exciting it is for boys to get to destroy things. Clinton even went out with steel toed boots and kicked parts of the shed down. We decided since we had so much wood, it was only natural to build a fire pit. After much hard work from various family members (special thanks to Kyle and Jackie) we managed to clean up the mess from the sheds and our fire pit is just about finished. My yard looks so much better. Thanks to every one who came over and helped or just hung out and kept us company. I will post pictures as soon as I take some.

Reflecting

Last night had an awesome dinner with my best friend Ashley. We talked about high school, what we used to be like, how we have grown and how we have known each other longer than we have known our husband's. It's so funny to remember being such a know-it-all kid. I made the comment that it seems the older you get the more stupid you realize you are. I have had so many "learning experiance's" (we won't call them "mistakes" because that would imply regret) through out my life and many of them have definately made me do a mental forehead slap. However, life goes on and we grow and change. This alone facinates me to no end; the different paths we choose and the decisions we make to choose them. Looking back it seems as though some of those decisions were not good ones, but it leaves me to wonder if life may not be so good now with out a few bad teenage decisions. I'd like to think that from some of the suffering (not to say that I haven't walked the line of a charmed life) comes growth. Either way, I have to count the many blessings I have had in my life that got me where I am today. I am fortunate to have a great family, amazing friends and a truely wonderful husband. Because after the day is done, your hair is a mess, you have coffee spilt down the front of you and you resemble the "Tazmanian Devil", its the people that are still standing behind you, giving you their love that matter. So here is an official thank you to all the people who I know I can count on, you know who you are.

My First Blog

Because the Myspace fad seems to be fading and I have taken a stand against Facebook, I have decided to start a blog. I think this may be a better way to keep in touch with family and friends as we begin our crazy journey across the country. Also, it will be a good way for me to keep the "journal" that I was always to lazy to keep up on. (I think I have AT LEAST 10 half filled journals from various ages that I started, that are just laying around my house) I really enjoy writing and I am extremely vain and proud, so what better outlet than an online journal about me and my family.
